Spanish and German Students Win Prizes for Wi-Fi Experiments in 2012

Caroline Schick

Following publication of the article on the Danish school girls’ experiment with cress and Wi-Fi, readers have drawn our attention to two similar experiments undertaken by Spanish and German students of the same age group in 2012. These students also won prizes for their science projects. Here they are:

Tecnópole Classroom Students receive prize “Es de libro” in competition with more than 3,400 students across Spain
Tecnópole, 21 May 2012
Martin Alvarez and Queila Bouza
Queila Bouza and Martin Alvarez, students at Tecnópole and 4th of ESO in IES O Couto de Ourense, were winners of the event "Es de libro” with their scientific research on the influence of radiation emitted by mobile devices such as mobile or wireless routers on seed germination and plant growth. The two students, who will receive the award on Saturday from the Minister of Education, José Ignacio Wert, concluded that there is a direct influence on the germination process. Seed fertility was higher in the case of those not exposed to radiation.

Wireless, Chemtrails and You

"While hundreds of millions of wireless addicts insist that nothing negative is happening, the effects of this invisible plague are worsening. In the United States, one in six children currently suffers neurological disability. With the much heralded new 4G LTE networks and devices 'producing a waveform that maximizes radiation absorption for 3-6 year olds,' writes Simon Best, the accelerating trend is straight up."

Next time you’re on a cellphone looking up at those long lingering plumes spreading across the sky, you might decide to end that call. If you spot any cell towers, roof-mounted transmitters or high-voltage power lines within a mile of your location, you may wish to evacuate the area immediately. And once home, you will want to permanently disconnect all wireless devices, including computer routers and “always-on” portable phone cradles. Because what you see in the sky is what you breathe. And chances are you’ve been breathing barium for more than a decade.

Former Pro-GMO Scientist Speaks Out on the Real Dangers of Genetically Engineered Food

Will some of us guinea pigs end up one day like these
lab rats, fed GM corn?
Genetically modified (GM) foods are less nutritious than non-GM foods, they pose distinct health risks, are inadequately regulated, harm the environment and farmers, and are a poor solution to world hunger. “There are no long-term feeding studies performed in the U.S. and Canada to demonstrate the claims that engineered corn and soy are safe.  All we have are scientific studies out of Europe and Russia, showing that rats fed engineered food die prematurely.  Any gene can give more than one protein.  Thus, inserting a gene anywhere in a plant eventually creates rogue proteins. Some of these proteins can be allergenic or toxic. The American Academy of Medicine called for a moratorium on GM foods four years ago...

Cell Phones and Children: Follow the Precautionary Road

The journal of Pediatric Nursing has published an excellent article by Suzanne Rosenberg, MS, RN, Assistant Professor, Health Sciences, LaGuardia Community College, Long Island City, New York, in its March-April 2013 edition. Following are the abstract, recommendations and conclusions of her article. Click here for document in full.

Abstract

Children are increasingly using cell phones. "Family package" deals make it easy for parents to obtain phones for their children, and the phones provide parents with the comfort of easy access to their children. However, cell phones emit radio frequency (RF) radiation (Bucher & the Committee on Appropriations, 2010). While the government has deemed RF radiation to be safe, there is no current significant research to make this claim. To determine the relationship between cell phone radiation and brain cancer requires long-term studies lasting decades and with inclusion of frequent users in the subject pool. Further, to extend the results of any study to children requires controlling for the differences between juveniles and adults regarding the composition of the head, and bone density and neural tissue. Dr. L. Hardell of the University Hospital of Sweden noted that "it is necessary to apply the precautionary principle in this situation," especially for long-term exposure that is likely to affect children (Hardell as cited in Mead, 2008, p. 1). There is cause for concern. (Pediatric Nursing, 2013 Mar-Apr; 39(2):65-70. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23705297)

Switzerland: Dying From Asbestos... the Difficulty of Having to Prove It

For many Swiss victims and their families, bringing proceedings against asbestos companies or their former owners seems a lost cause, due to Switzerland's 10 year statute of limitations.

In December 2011, the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg accepted the case of an asbestos victim against his place of employment, Alstom Schweiz, and Suva, the biggest Swiss accident insurance company, on the grounds that both had been remiss in their monitoring duty.

From 1966 to 1978, the worker had been exposed to asbestos in his workplace.  He died in 2005 of cancer of the pleura.  His daughters have taken up the case against his employer.  It was rejected by both the cantonal justice authorities and the Swiss Federal Court on the grounds that demands for compensation expire in Switzerland 10 years after harm is suffered.  This statute of limitations prevents all payment of damages and interest, since all asbestos-related diseases - asbestose and cancer of the pleura or lung - usually do not declare themselves until at least 15 years after exposure.  This case is, actually, one of the employee against Switzerland and its 10-year statute of limitations.  The defendant's lawyer, David Husmann, expects a judgement within the next two years. Addicted to Your Cell Phone? Here's What You Need to Know

Addicted to your cell phone?
by Zeenia Baria, The Times of India, 24 May 2013

Here's what you need to know...

While cell phones have become an indispensable part of our lives, over-attachment and over-dependence on them can spell doom for your health. Here, experts reveal why too much usage can cause you more harm than good...

Reduces sperm count
Gynaecologist and infertility specialist Dr Nandita Palshetkar says that the high-frequency electromagnetic radiation that cell phones emit may be associated with increased risk of brain tumours. "However, other tissues in the body such as the testes may also be sensitive to these cell phone-radiofrequency electromagnetic fields. Cell phone fields, because of their frequency and intensity, are prone to increasing temperature in tissues close to where they are used. Men who use hands-free devices tend to carry their cell phones in their pants pocket or clipped to their belts at the waist while in talk mode. As a result, they may be exposing their testicles to damaging radiofrequency electromagnetic waves. When placed close to the testes, such as in a pocket or on the hip, cell phones have been found to be associated with reduced sperm motility and concentration. Even cell phones that are at rest are emitting signals as they constantly monitor the airwaves for a signal. This seemed to be more associated with the length of time in the proximity of the testes," says Dr Palshetkar.

Electrosensitivity Caused by Chronic Nervous System Arousal - Dr. Roy Fox

This article is excellent and contains a wealth of resources and advice for helping persons suffering from electrosensitivity.

Electrosensitivity caused by chronic nervous system arousal –
Dr Roy Fox
by André Fauteux, Editor, Maison du 21e siècle, 20 mai 2013
French version of this interview

Pollutant avoidance and detoxification are preferable to neuroactive medication if you suffer from electrosensitivity or chemical sensitivities, says Dr Roy Fox, Medical Director of the Capital Health Integrative Chronic Care Service, based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Dr Fox will be speaking on this topic in Montreal next May 25th at the Project ECOSPHERE Environmental and Ecohousing Fair.

Contrary to a common medical practice worldwide, one of Canada’s few experts in environmental medicine says avoiding pollutants and detoxifying the body are the best ways of reducing symptoms of environmental sensitivities and that use of neuroactive drugs is a risky last resort.

Can BioGeometry Ease Electrosensitivity?

In addition to reading the two articles about BioGeometry which follow, view this video: "Hemberg Swiss project on Reuters" where Dr. Ibrahim Karim, an Egyptian architect and founder of the science of BioGeometry, talks about how biogeometric shapes were used in the Swiss village of Hemberg (canton St. Gallen) to alleviate the effects of mobile phone antenna emissions on people and the environment. He says that this could not be due to a placebo effect because the “ecology” improved once the geometrical forms were placed: birds and bats returned to the village and people felt better. Also read this document about the experiment:  http://www.scribd.com/doc/121266793/Ibrahim-Karim-Harmonization-With-Biogeometry-Mobile-Radiation-in-Hemberg

Following the success of this project, Dr. Karim was commissioned by the local government of the Swiss town of Hirschberg to implement a similar solution there. The energy-quality balancing of BioGeometry eased the symptoms of electrosensitive persons, among a number of other health conditions, as well as positively impacting the overall ecology of the area, including the health of the livestock in the area.

Former Microsoft Canada Head Joins Fight to Protect Schoolchildren from Wi-Fi

Frank Clegg
Here is my answer to Robyn Urback, author of the National Post comment on former Microsoft Canada Frank Clegg’s recent talk to parents and teachers in Mississauga, Ontario, about the dangers of wireless internet in schools:

Dear Ms. Urback,
What you have written is misleading and biased. Please look at the independent, non-industry funded, research which points to biological effects from exposure to electromagnetic (EM) radiation such as that emitted by Wi-Fi. The person in charge of the EM fields project at WHO, Michael Repacholi, was receiving tens of thousands of dollars a year from the telecoms industry, so of course, WHO would play down the health effects of wireless technology. Responsible journalists such as yourself should do your homework and report both sides of the issue. Instead, by implying this technology is safe, you are encouraging the continuation of a developing health disaster which could be as serious as - or moreso than - that of smoking and asbestos.

Furthermore, the comment disparages Frank Clegg, a person who is selflessly devoting himself to raising awareness of the health issues of wireless technology. The issue of Wi-Fi in schools is particularly important because children, whose bodies are still developing, are more vulnerable to electromagnetic radiation.

U.K. Study of 790,000 Women: Cell Phone Use Associated with Increased Risk of Acoustic Neuroma and Cancer of the Pituitary Gland

Pituitary tumor
We previously published an article on this study from Microwave News.

Cell Phone Use, Acoustic Neuroma and Cancer of the Pituitary Gland
PRLog Press Release, Berkeley, Calif., 10 May 2013

Cell phone use was associated with increased risk of two types of brain tumors in a new study of 790,000 women.

PRLog (Press Release) - May 10, 2013 - BERKELEY, Calif. -- Cell phone use was associated with increased risk of acoustic neuroma and cancer of the pituitary gland in a prospective study of more than 790,000 women in the United Kingdom. (1)

Acoustic neuroma is a rare, non-malignant tumor that develops on the main nerve leading from the inner ear to the brain. The pituitary gland is an organ that produces hormones which regulate important functions of the body and is located in the middle of the base of the brain.

Women who used cell phones for ten or more years were two-and- a-half times more likely to develop an acoustic neuroma. Their risk of acoustic neuroma increased with the number of years they used cell phones.

Denmark: 9th Grade Class Experiments with Cress Exposed to Wi-Fi Attract International Attention

Five girls from a 9th grade class at the Hjallerup School in North Jutland, Denmark, have recently conducted an experiment with cress seeds exposed to wi-fi. After 12 days, the seeds next to two wi-fi routers had not grown, and some of them were even mutated or dead. The seeds in a separate - radiation-free – room sprouted healthily.

Renowned scientists from England, Holland and Sweden have since shown great interest in the girls' project. Professor Olle Johansson at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, is one of the impressed researchers. He will now repeat the experiment with a Belgian research colleague, Professor Marie-Claire Cammaert at the Université libre de Bruxelles.

China Food Scandal: Rat Meat Sold As Lamb Meat

In Europe, horsemeat was being sold as beef. In China, rat meat is being sold as lamb. "Don't be surprised to find China selling rat meat, or rat burgers, or even McRatguts with special dipping sauces made from human feces." This article goes beyond the food scandal to discuss the "moral compass" of China.

China food scandal: Rat meat sold as lamb meat
by Mike Adams, Editor of NaturalNews.com, 3 May 2013

(NaturalNews) When it comes to lying, cheating, deceiving and scamming people about their food, no country is more accomplished than China, home of the melamine infant formula scandal and foods contaminated with high levels of heavy metals.

Now a new scandal adds one more milestone to the list: Chinese authorities say they broke up a 900-person criminal ring that harvested meat from rats and other animals to be modified and sold as lamb meat. This "rat meat" appeared in markets in Jiangsu province and Shanghai.

Skin Conditions from Using a Laptop on the Lap

This comment comes from "Que Paise Esse" (What Country Is This?). The photos show skin conditions caused by using a notebook on the lap. The text has been translated from Spanish, using Google.

There is no problem for those who use a laptop, just one hour a day, surrendering to the comfortable habit of using the computer lying in bed with it positioned on top of the lap, if you do not do it every day or spend hours in these conditions.

A 12-year-old boy presented some spots on his left leg. The "burnt leg syndrome" was easily diagnosed by a physician after the boy reported spending hours with a laptop on his lap, and although it heated up, he did not shift its position.

Brain Tumors and Cell Phone Use

The city of San Francisco is deciding this month whether to dissolve its cell phone safety bill, while today, 2 May, the state of Maine is voting on whether to pass cell phone safety legislation.   May is also National Brain Tumor Awareness Month. Before watching this testimony of a 34-year-old man diagnosed with brain cancer, most likely brought on by cell phone use, read what the three authors, including Professor Angelo Levis, wrote about mobile telephony and head tumors in 2012 (ref: "Business Bias As Usual: The Case of Electromagnetic Pollution").  Then read the message from the maker of the film, "Disconnect" from which the video clip is taken:

"The risk of head tumors resulting from mobile phone use is very high. Lloyd-Morgan, while underestimating by 50% the number of cell users, without considering the risk for cordless users and assuming a minimum latency time of 30 years, calculates 'there would be about 1,900 cell-phone-induced brain tumors out of about 50,000 brain tumors diagnosed in 2004, increasing to about 380,000 cell-phone-induced brain tumors within 2019 in the USA alone'... An estimate of the incidence of head tumors must begin with the correct number of cell-phone users (5 billion subscriptions worldwide at mid 2010), should also consider the risk to cordless users, and assume at least a doubling of the incidence of head tumors and of acoustic neuromas as documented by Hardell already after a latency of at least 10-15 years, that gives about 750,000 new cases worldwide even today.

"A number of factors raise our concern still further: the latency of head tumor induced by mobile phones can exceed 30 years; risk is higher in those starting mobile phone use when young and who have not yet accumulated 10 years of latency... The data by Hardell on the increase in other types of malign and benign head tumor – besides brain gliomas, astrocytomas, and acoustic neuromas – are for the main part today only indicative. Therefore, there is no doubt that today we are dealing with just the tip of an iceberg, and will have to wait one or two decades before its real dimensions come to light."

Electrohypersensitivity: Letter to the Director of the Swiss Federal Office for Public Health

The following letter, addressed to the Director of the Swiss Federal Office for Public Health, Mr. Pascal Strupler, was written by the creator of the new site « Gigasmog » (located in La Neuveville in French-speaking Switzerland).  The purpose of the site is to inform about the (potential) danger of using wireless technologies everywhere and under all conditions.  “We are also going to attempt to show how a person who has become electrohypersensitive (EHS) is able to, in spite of this serious handicap, to remain with his/her family and assume essential tasks.”

Letter to Mr. Strupler, Director of the Federal Office for Public Health, 10 March 2013

Dear Sir :

You hold the future health of several hundreds of thousands of citizens of this country in your hands!
